HOSTAR Marine continues to grow on many levels. Its latest 45-ton hydraulic yard trailer delivery to Guatemala adds Central America to its worldwide presence. It also marks the first HOSTAR model that handles large cruising catamarans, as well as powerboats and sailboats. This new tri-purpose trailer for a new market exemplifies HOSTAR’s versatile manufacturing capabilities to meet diverse customer needs.
The custom hydraulic yard trailer was developed for the Hotel Marina & Yacht Club Nana Juana, located on the Rio Dulce and Lake Izabal. This freshwater system flows 27 miles to Livingston, Guatemala, where it meets the Caribbean Sea. The area’s secluded anchorages during hurricane season and comfortable year-round climate have made it a popular cruising destination.
To accommodate demand, the Nana Juana facility installed a boat ramp and is enhancing its storage yard to hold and service more than 400 vessels, from 35′ to 80′. The new HOSTAR 45-ton yard trailer is 53′ long and 11′ wide, and is moved with a Lobbo 1254 tractor. With 6 fully adjustable hydraulic arms, the trailer secures various hull types with up to an 8′ draft.
The trailer includes strap hangers with straps to handle sailboat keels, and customized removable bunks to service the cruising catamarans popular in the area. A wireless remote control further simplifies operation. The new owners received on-site training covering safe use and maintenance of their trailer.
Hotel Marina & Yacht Club Nana Juana is a full-service destination resort. The property includes a marina, bungalow-style cottages, restaurant and pool. Surrounded by lush jungle, it offers beautiful views of the river.
With many satisfied customers worldwide, HOSTAR designs and builds hydraulic trailers for boatyard and road use. In addition to its full line, the company will customize any model to accommodate the special needs of marinas, boatyards and repair facilities.
