Four hours and 26 minutes—that’s how long Mao Weidong, a member of the Beijing Police department SWAT team, was able to hold the plank position for. Reliant upon not only immense core strength, but plenty of mental strength as well, holding plank for that long seems unbelievable to most.
According to Muscle & Fitness, Weidong was easily able to surpass the previous record of three hours and seven minutes, and insisted on making it to four hours and 26 minutes, as his wife’s birthday is April 26.
A video was uploaded to YouTube of the feat, and its description states that Weidong, 43, carried out the plank record on September 26.
