Vehicle outfitter Front Runner has debuted its highly versatile Pro Bed Rack System, which features an easy-to-install yet lightweight and robust load bed storage approach for pickup truck owners. The new system is intended to help adventurers optimize their gear-carrying capacity and accessibility for overlanding, camping, and other sports.
The Front Runner brand was acquired by Dometic in 2021, so they bring a lot of history to this space. The Pro Bed Rack System has its roots in Front Runner Dometic roof rack systems, porting over the versatility and reliability that they’ve displayed while being crafted to give gear accessibility to a pickup’s load bed area — without intruding on valuable in-bed space.
The system has multiple accessor channels and T-slots, making for a quick and easy fitment of a wide range of Front Runner Dometic accessories, such as recovery device mount brackets, universal side mount brackets, 20-liter water tank mount brackets, Wolf Pack Pro Mount brackets, Rotopax Mounts and multiple Molle panel mounting options.
The Pro Bed Rack System is vehicle-specific and can easily be fitted to the existing factory mounting points with minimal modification. It has been designed to work with all bed liners and most drop-in liners. It currently fits eight vehicles:
- Ram 1500 Crew Cab 5’7″ bed
- Ford F150 Super Crew 5.5′ bed
- Ford Ranger T6 DC / Super Crew
- Ford Ranger T6.2 DC / Super Crew
- Jeep Gladiator
- Toyota Hilux DC
- Toyota Tacoma DC 5′ bed
- Toyota Tundra Crewmax 3rd-Gen 5.5′ bed
The MSRP is vehicle dependent, ranging $2,630 to $3,125.
Among the add-on options is the Slimline II, which is a popular overland roof rack. It seamlessly installs onto the top of the Pro Bed Rack, offering compatibility with several dozen accessories.
