Just a few weeks after Federal Communications Commission information about the Sunnto Race S — the second release in the sportwatch maker’s AMOLED lineup — became available, a Spanish-language shopping website has posted the first product listing for the much-anticipated device.
A Reddit user shared screenshots from MediaMarkt.es onto r/Suunto, which included details about the Sunnto Race S having a 1.32-inch screen, offline maps, and 32 GB of memory. The listed price was 349€. By comparison, the original Suunto Race, which was one of the most talked-about watches of 2023, has a screen that’s 0.11 inches larger and a little higher price tag, depending on whether the buy is looking for a titanium or steel version. It’s unclear from the MediaMarkt listing whether both build-quality options will be available for the Race S.
With the smaller display screen, information has not come out about how much smaller the actual face of the watch, including bezel, would be, though reasonable speculation is around 44mm or 45mm. The outdoor sportwatch market is trending toward larger watches, especially as features like mapping are becoming more standard. So a smaller well-featured device would be a welcome change for those who want to reduce the bulk from their wearable or who have smaller wrists and want a wearable to be a better and potentially more comfortable fit.
The FCC materials, showing testing that was done in March 2024, notes that the Race S will have dual-band GNSS, able to lock onto both the L1 and L5 bandwidths. This kind of feature is becoming standard in the newest and most successful sportwatch releases.
The product listing shows the Race S to be available in several different colors: all black, powder grey, powder blue, powder orange, gravel grey and pink, though it’s unclear how those combinations differ between the watch material itself and the strap color.
No word has been given as to when the watch could be officially launched, though speculation is largely on early summer. More information will be released once more sites begin to list the product and official media materials and testing opportunities become available from Suunto.
