Torqeedo Partners with Sun Tracker for PGA Event

Sun Tracker Boats partners with Torqueedo to power a Regency Pontoon for the PGA's The Big Cedar Lodge Legends of Golf presented by Bass Pro Shops.

Torqeedo, the world leader in electric boating, is pleased to announce that it has partnered with Sun Tracker Boats in powering a Regency Pontoon for the PGA’s The Big Cedar Lodge Legends of Golf Presented by Bass Pro Shops. Celebrities like Arnold Palmer and Tony Stewart, together with luminaries from the fishing, hunting and racing worlds will descend upon Branson, Missouri to enjoy the newly redesigned Top of the Rock Golf Course, perched high above Table Rock Lake.

Jack Nicklaus designed the course to highlight not only the beauty of the natural surroundings but to bring in new golfers to the sport. The event is the first PGA-sanctioned PAR 3 event in history and will run June 4-8.

The Legends of Golf event will be broadcast on the Golf Channel, allowing the public its first look at the course and to see lifelong golf heroes confront the challenge of this unique PAR 3. The electric pontoon boat will transport some of the game’s great names like Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, Hale Irwin, Gary Player and Lee Trevino via water to take on the course’s demanding new island green.

“To even have a small association with an event of this magnitude is a great honor for Torqeedo. The tranquil experience from being transported over the water via electric propulsion is fitting for such a pristine setting. We hope they enjoy it,” said Steve Trkla, president, Torqeedo Inc.

The Sun Tracker Regency provides an amazingly comfortable ride with plush fore and aft lounges, providing a luxurious respite for the golfers aboard. They’ll have to wait to finish their round before taking advantage of the other features of the Regency. The swim platform, refreshment center and Bluetooth-capable stereo with surround sound make this party barge a perfect entertainment platform. The 22′ boat has been equipped with Torqeedo’s Cruise 4.0 motor and powered with six Power 26-104 lithium smart batteries, providing a quiet, powerful and fume-free motoring experience.

Organizers are expecting fans from across the country to visit Missouri because of the Legends of Golf event. That will provide a boost to the local economy as well as showcase the area’s nature and amazing views.
