Pat’s Backcountry Beverages Taps Backbone Media for PR

The starter kid includes the patented Carbonator Bottle with family of five soda flavors and carbonation activators.

Pat’s Backcountry Beverages, leaders in environmentally-responsible craft beer and natural soda concentrates, has named active lifestyle agency Backbone Media to manage its public relations as the brand continues its rapid growth into new markets.

“Backbone will help us target and engage consumers in the endemic outdoor market as well as raise our profile in the natural foods and craft beer communities,” says Scott Kinsey, vice president of sales and marketing for Pat’s Backcountry Beverages. “We created this product for the backcountry, but the technology has many applications, all while significantly reducing waste, transport costs and the energy required to make great tasting beverages.”

In 1997, Pat’s Backcountry Beverages CEO and founder Pat Tatera was on a backpacking trip in Utah when he realized the only thing missing from his pack was a beer. Over the next 15 years, Tatera perfected his “Hybrid Brewing Technology” process, which produces a highly concentrated beer syrup that when combined with water and carbonated in their patented BPA-free bottle, creates a tasty, full-bodied beer, currently available in two flavors: Pat’s 1919 Pale Rail or Pat’s Black Hops. See a demo here.

This technology reduces weight by 87% and space by 89%, compared to hauling a 12-ounce can of beer.

Pat’s Backcountry Beverages also makes five gourmet, all-natural soda concentrates, all from pure cane juices, loaded with vitamins and containing no preservatives. In addition to backcountry use, the soda flavors are a popular compliment to the growing home soda-maker industry, providing all-natural, tasty and environmentally-friendly alternatives to pre-packaged sodas.

This summer, Pat’s Backcountry Beverages will significantly expand distribution of its Carbonator Bottle, All-Natural Sodas and activator packets to many specialty outdoor retailer locations across the country. Pat’s beer concentrates are available at select liquor stores and online to 45 states. To learn more about Pat’s Backcountry Beverages, visit www.patsbcb.com.
