Developing and delivering new technology has helped Webasto Thermo & Comfort North America, Inc. serve OEMs, recreational and commercial marine consumers. Now, the expert in marine comfort solutions is introducing the all new V50M Chiller System at this year’s International Boatbuilders’ Exhibition & Conference (IBEX). The company is hosting a reception at IBEX to launch the new product on September 30, 3-6 pm in its booth, #1547, as well as holding a seminar on October 1, 10:15 am-12:15 pm in meeting room #10 to further review features and functionality.
This new unit compliments Webasto’s existing line of BlueCool and FCF air-conditioning products and incorporates cutting-edge software. “Our new V50M chiller is the latest in our air-conditioning product line and we’re proud to debut it at IBEX,” said Dr. Rolf Haag, president and CEO of Webasto.
The innovative V50M system runs on variable speed compressors controlled with inverter technology during the starting phase and continually throughout operation. This leads to smooth and silent operation with no electrical starting peak, importantly resulting in cost-savings. The self-adapting control logic allows the unit to operate efficiently worldwide, particularly in tough climate conditions.
“The groundbreaking V50M is the first green-friendly HVAC Chiller System because of its managed low power drain versus managed output,” said Haag.
The V50M is fully capable to run with 50 Hz or 60 Hz power-supply frequencies. Coolant and space temperatures remain stable because of continuous adaptation of the chiller output to the cooling or heating demand. The system self-adjusts to ambient conditions, and high-pressure issues are greatly reduced due to the system’s intelligent pressure control.
“The V50M has a smaller footprint than other chillers in the industry that have a lower BTU output,” Haag said. “The system is designed with an effective noise-shield housing for very low noise emission, and a condensate-free design that reduces installation efforts.”
A detachable electronic box offers flexibility and easy mounting. Installation is also simplified due to the unit’s ultra-light and compact design.
The V50M Chiller System is compatible with the BlueCool Expert Tool and log function for ease of validation, service and maintenance support. Troubleshooting and maintenance assistance can be accomplished in real-time with support from Webasto’s global tech team with just a USB and internet connection. All relevant technical data can be logged and saved.
In addition, the new software provides a prompted maintenance schedule, and also features two levels of ECO mode. In ECO mode, the operator can limit compressor speed and reduce electrical consumption. The software also allows the operation of more electrical devices in parallel to the air conditioning chiller in event of poor electrical supply.
The V50M Chiller System price starts at $13,500.
