Outdoor Research, the independent, Seattle-based manufacturer of technical outdoor apparel and accessories, will partner starting this fall with the 5Point Film Festival as the festival’s presenting sponsor and exclusive apparel partner.
The 5Point Film Festival and Outdoor Research share a goal of telling inspiring stories and both have already shared success with film projects such as Huayhuash and Road From Karakol, a film featuring one of Outdoor Research’s ambassadors, Kyle Dempster. That film won the event’s Best of Festival award in 2013.
“We are so thrilled to be partnering with our friends over at Outdoor Research,” said Sarah Wood, Executive Director of 5Point Film Festival. “With our shared commitment to the outdoor community, experiential quality standards, and shared core values, we know this partnership will breed an even more powerful, memorable experience for 5Point audiences.”
Dan Nordstrom, CEO of Outdoor Research, said innovation is a common bond between the two organizations.
“After working with 5Point for many years it’s clear that they are the ones pushing the boundaries of what adventure film can be in today’s world,” Nordstrom said. “Innovation is at the core of our DNA, so we are always on the lookout to partner with others travelling the same road. It’s obvious our values are really well aligned, which makes this a great opportunity to be a bigger part of the energy that makes 5Point special.”
The 5Point Film Festival is in its eighth season with On the Road shows across the country this fall and winter as well as Festivals launching in Seattle, Wash., and Somerville, Mass., this year. The flagship Festival will be held April 23-26, 2015 in Carbondale, Colo., beginning with a four-day weekend of films, culture, special guests and celebrations as an outdoor community built on respect, commitment, humility, purpose and balance.
