SD Sport Innovators (SDSI), a business accelerator that connects and drives the growth of Southern California’s innovative sports and active lifestyle (SAL) economy, has accepted seven companies to participate in Class 5 of its business mentoring program, Springboard.
SDSI Springboard is a four-month intensive mentoring program that pairs entrepreneurs from the SAL industry with industry executives for hands on mentoring to refine a company’s business plan, create a sustainable business model and a compelling investor presentation in preparation for commercialization, strategic partnerships and capital funding opportunities. The seven companies selected to participate in SDSI Springboard Class 5 include; Avalanche Company, the distributor for Twins Special and Kings Professional; Alii Lifestyle; Dbot5; EPIC Series; Solo Eyewear; Tribal Snowtools; and Plastic Clothing. The companies are working with their mentors to prepare for the next program milestones scheduled for late November.
“As a startup in the exciting functional fitness and obstacle course event space, the EPIC Series is thrilled to be a part of the SDSI Springboard program,” said SDSI Springboard Class 5 participant, Tim Fitzpatrick, Founder of EPIC Series. “2015 will be a year of growth for The EPIC Series and I believe the SDSI Springboard program will be extremely valuable to helping us grow and scale our business in a smart and efficient manner. It is going to be EPIC!”
These companies are slated to graduate late-February and qualified graduates will be positioned as top candidates to participate in capital events around the community.
