Dan Osman is best known for his amazing, some might say insane, videos (like this one!). During his lifetime he set the Guinness record for free-soloing and became the face of rock climbing in America.

Someone who lives as close to the edge as Osman is always taking risks, and his love of free fall jumps eventually claimed his life when a safety rope melted and snapped during a jump in 1998.

“Dano” remains one of the most influential climbers today, more than a decade after his passing.
